For quite a while it has been known that we have been running out of Internet Protocol version 4 address space. This has caused quite a stir, especially in the community of tech organizations. Before IPv4 fully ran out, Microsoft spent 7.5 millions of dollars on over 60 thousand IPv4 addresses. Decades ago, when the IPv4 addresses were first distributed, the Regional Internet Registry assumed that 4 billion IPv4 addresses would be enough to last us a very long time. That assumption, unfortunately, was cut short. In 2019 it was announced that we have run out of IPv4s completely.

Due to this troublesome assessment, before IPv4 addresses were running out, IPv6 addresses were being worked on to hopefully replace the former. Internet Protocol version 6 was deployed for a while now, give or take a few years, and it is being used worldwide. It is used mostly for mobile phones and computers. You may be asking yourself why everyone is still in a fuss about the whole shortage of IPv4 addresses since IPv6 is already up and running. Well, there is a bit of a snag. IPv6 can be used yes, but the way to use it efficiently is by using IPv4 as well.

Is IPv6 the solution to the IPv4 shortage problem?

The answer is yes. But it will take some time before IPv6 is ready to be used in the same way IPv4 was and still is used. One of the many reasons IPv4 addresses depleted faster than people assumed is due to its 32-bit addresses. IPv6 however, has 128-bit addresses, meaning that IPv6 will have way more addresses available compared to IPv4. With a 128-bit address number, IPv6 will be able to have trillions of combinations of addresses that can last us well up to 400 years. As good as this sounds, we still aren’t there yet with IPv6. The good news is that IPv4 is able to help bridge the gap with IPv6 so one day, we will be able to use IPv6 completely.

Looking At Spiritualism Through Time

The occult is widely known as an ancient and secret philosophy or belief in Western civilisation. This practice was birthed from a touch of Hellenistic magic and a touch of Jewish mysticism-using the Kabbala which is a mystical interpretation of the Torah. These have been familiar with European scholars since the Middle Ages and were also linked with the Hermetic texts during the Renaissance. Together, these two traditions formed Hermetism, which incorporated both theory and practical magic (this was seen as good magic). In the 17th century, alchemy was introduced as part of this practice. A secret brotherhood formed, specialising in alchemy and teaching the practice to its followers. 

 

Fast forwarding into the 18th century, a Freemasons group began taking up Hermetism, as Freemasonry had no such practices within itself. This became increasingly popular within the 19th century when society began questioning orthodox religious beliefs, and as a result, bringing the occult into light. Within the 19th century, however, Hermetism changed into something we now know as Spiritualism, hence spiritual mediums. 

 

The term ‘Spiritualism’ was coined in the 1850s and was inspired by two sisters in New York who claimed to hear rapping noises from within their walls, alluding to the fact that spirits were in their house. 

Persecution Through Time

There has been a lot of negativity throughout time regarding Spiritualism, dating way back to c. 300. 

 

During this time, magic was linked to paganism, the label Christian missionaries used to shed a negative light on the religious beliefs of Celtic, Germanic, and Scandinavian customs. Church leaders also appropriated and Christianised native practices and beliefs of their native tribes. 

 

In Salem, Massachusetts during the 17th century many people were prosecuted for being thought of as Witches. The Christian community thought that witches would harm other people in an attempt to gain their loyalty. 

 

In 1898, the Roman Catholic Church spoke against Spiritualism, expressing their thoughts of making Spiritualism a religion dangerous. 

Famous People Who Dabbled In Spiritualism Throughout Time

  1. Thomas Edisos: After inventing the phonograph, he wanted to create a ‘Spirit Phone’ to communicate with the dead. 
  2. Mae West: A popular performer, writer and activist of her time, Mae West’s severe abdominal pain was healed by a Spiritualist healer. 
  3. Queen Victoria: After the death of her husband, Prince Albert, Queen Victoria became increasingly interested in Spiritualism in an attempt to communicate with her late husband. It is said that she held seances in Buckingham Palace to gain advice off of Prince Albert on political matters. 
  4. Mary Todd Lincoln: When former President Abraham Lincoln died, his wife Mary Todd Lincoln desperately tried to get in contact with him with the use of seances. It is said that this was not the first time she had done this, as she tried three years before when her son died.

Beveiligingscamera’s zijn tegenwoordig gemakkelijker toegankelijk dan in het verleden. Ze worden niet meer alleen door bedrijven gebruikt. Tegenwoordig gebruiken veel mensen een beveiligingscamera om hun huis te beschermen tegen gevaren. Beveiligingscamera’s zijn niet alleen toegankelijker, maar ook diverser dan ooit tevoren. IP-camera’s

Een IP-camera valt in de laatste categorie. Het staat bekend als eenvoudig te gebruiken en in te stellen. IP-camera’s werken, zoals de naam al aangeeft, met een IP-signaal, waardoor het eenvoudig is om de beelden via je netwerk te verzenden en te bekijken. IP-camera’s kunnen nu worden aangesloten op een netwerkvideorecorder (NVR). Als je een NVR-recorder met PoE-poorten koopt, kun je de IP-camera en de netwerkrecorder rechtstreeks aansluiten via een utp/cat5e-verbinding, wat handig is omdat je zo via dezelfde kabel foto’s en elektriciteit kunt verzenden. Een slaapkamer op zich zelf inrichten is al een aardige klus, maar een kleine slaapkamer brengt nog meer moeilijkheden met zich mee. Er zijn een aantal onderdelen die terug moeten komen in de slaapkamer, en daar moet je wel ruimte voor creëren. Het is belangrijk dat je de ruimte zo in richt dat je het comfort hebt, en daarbij ook zorgt voor een mooie uitstraling. De vraag is wat je kan doen om de ruimte over te houden in de kleine slaapkamer, en wat je kunt doen om voldoende opbergruimte te hebben. Aantal spullen

Als je geen grote slaapkamer hebt is het handig om ook niet te veel spullen te plaatsen. In eerste instantie is het belangrijk om de essentiële onderdelen terug te laten komen. Opbergmogelijkheden

Een slaapkamer kan niet zonder opbergruimte. Je zal toch ergens je kleding en andere spullen kwijt moeten. Je kan kiezen om een kledingkast aan te schaffen, maar over het algemeen nemen deze kasten veel ruimte in beslag, en die ruimte heb je misschien wel helemaal niet. Er is ook de mogelijkheid om kasten te vermijden en te kiezen voor andere opbergmogelijkheden. Je kan bijvoorbeeld denken aan bepaalde manden of lades die je onder het bed kan doen of aan haakjes aan de muur voor bepaalde kleding. Een tip is om een bed met opbergruimte te nemen. Een bed is het belangrijkste onderdeel in de slaapkamer, en waarom de ruimte van het bed ook niet gebruiken om andere spullen op te bergen.

Ruimte groter laten lijken

Er zijn ook andere manieren om de slaapkamer groter te laten lijken dan deze kamer eigenlijk is. Zo is het gebruik van daglicht belangrijk overdag en kunnen spiegels ook helpen. Genoeg licht zorgt ervoor dat je alle hoeken van de kamer ziet, en meer het gevoel van ruimte hebt. Een spiegel kan daarbij ook de ruimte groter laten lijken. Ook zijn lichte kleuren op de muur, en meubels met lichte kleuren vaak beter voor het gevoel van ruimte.

Bij doe-het-zelfwerkzaamheden kunnen stof, vuil of spatten door de lucht vliegen. Daarom is beschermende kleding essentieel. Er zijn ook ruimzichtbrillen op de markt die helemaal aan aansluiten op de gezichtshuid. Deze brillen zijn vergelijkbaar met een skibril.  Ruimzichtbrillen bieden nog meer bescherming voor je ogen dan een ‘gewone’ veiligheidsbril. Veel van deze brillen kun je ook gebruiken om over je bril heen te zetten.

Kniebeschermers

Voorkom knieletsel, enorme blaren op je handen of misschien wel erger. Of je nu aan het werk in de bouw of thuis aan het klussen bent, kniebeschermers zijn altijd welkom. Wanneer je langdurig op je knieën moet werken zijn kniebeschermers ideaal. Zij zorgen ervoor dat er geen schade ontstaat aan je knieën en zorgen voor voldoende comfort tijdens het klussen.

Gehoorbescherming

Veel klussers denken dat het niet zo erg is om even blootgesteld te worden aan een hard geluid. Dit is een misvatting. Blootstelling aan te veel lawaai in een korte tijd kan ook uw gehoor beschadigen. De beste methode voor gehoorbescherming voor u hangt af van wat u doet.
